Our Mission

The Heart of Camden's mission is to restore the dignity and quality of life
of the community through programs for housing restoration,
economic expansion and human development.

2007 - is a big Year
Twenty four homes will be built
Ferry Avenue will be Streetscaped
A buffer will be installed between the neighborhood and industry
We will keep planning for a gym, museum, and theatre

"We Shall Rise"

A true community mural created with the theme "our neighborhood is alive, is strong, and life goes on here" was designed by artist Cesar Viveros with much input from Waterfront South residents.
It was painted at various Heart of Camden locations by many. Thanks to John Gialuco for donating his wall, the Perkins Art Center and Camden County Prosecutor's office for sponsoring, and the many others who participated.

Oh, if I had a wish, it would be that the world of little children would be soft and beautiful as our tender God first intended - before we tore His dreams with our greed and neglect."
